The evaporator motor in my side by side Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer was starting to make a vibration noise and it seemed to be getting worse over time. Looked up a couple Youtube videos and it looked like a simple job to replace the motor on my model .....so I decided to do it.It's a pretty simple job. The hardest thing is taking all the frozen food out of the freezer side. Once the food is all out, take the necessary shevles/racks out, take out a few screws holding the back panel in place, unfasten the old motor, fasten the new motor in place, put the back panel back in, replace the shelves/racks, replace your frozen food and plug it back in and you're back in business. The new motor purrs along just like when the refrigerator/freezer was new !If you're at all mechanically inclined, or at least not totally inept with a screwdriver, you can do this yourself ! I do suggest you watch a youtube video first since that does make it a lot easier to understand what you actually need to do ahead of time.I purchased this to replace the failing motor in my fridge. The motor works well and the fridge is cold again. But, the motor is a slightly different configuration that the one it replaced. The motor would only fit when it was turned 180°. This required the contacts to be connected on the back rather than facing front. A little fiddly, but contacts on first, then mounted motor and it all seemed to work out.More than 1/2 the price of local appliance part center. Was shipped and received next day.Plenty of videos to show how you diagnose and replace,Easy to get to and replace. Only thing was the wire connectors were on the opposite side from the original. No big deal, I just hooked the wires up before I mounted it and put the connectors toward the back of the freezer instead of the front like the original was. Fixed the horrible noise that would happen whenever this fan came on.Put in this part quickly and easily and the refrigerator is now working properly again.Been installed about 2 months and working just fine. Had to flip connectors but installation was simple. I'd give it a 5 if it works for as longer than the OEM'sThe replacement fan motor fit fine but it is cheaply made with plastic motor bearing caps instead of sturdy metal like the original. Nothing at all like 'OEM'. Also not as quiet as it should be but it works, so at least there's that.I did research on having this refrigerator motor replaced by an appliance repair person. It would have cost close to $200. I watched a You Tube video on how to do it myself and found this vendor on Amazon who had the part. It arrived in a timely manner and was a perfect match for the old one. I saved $170 by doing the repair myself.Bought this for my KitchenAid refrigerator model: KSRS25FGBT02. The original fan's shaft was loose, causing the fan to wiggle while spinning. This also caused the fan to not cool as well and getting stuck. So I bought this motor and it works like new. The motor isn't exactly like the original. The wiring is on the opposite side but it still fits.
